  • Dr. Michael Oehley

    Dr Michael Oehley is delighted to join the team in 2020 as the new Clinical Lead GP at Northcare Grandview. He brings plenty of years’ experience in general practice and is passionate about preventative health, care of families and children, travel medicine, acute care and medical education. He is the Chief Examiner for the Royal N.Z. College of GPs and a published author of fiction. Michael’s personal interests include travel, writing, running, tennis and family time with his wife and two children.

  • Dr. John Tai


    Having finished school in Hong Kong, John went on to study medicine in the United Kingdom and qualified in 1988. Further training lead him to become a qualified general practitioner in 1995 and he then joined the Royal College of General Practitioners as a member in 1996. Since 1997 he has been working full time in Hamilton.

    John enjoys all aspects of General Practice.

  • Dr. Mohammed Tariq Ali

    Dr Mohammed Tariq Ali moved to NZ in 2010. He graduated from India and then worked in the Middle East for 5 years. He worked as an Intensivist in ICU and ED before moving to New Zealand and passing the NZREX.

    He has worked at Taranaki Hospital as an ED registrar before moving to Hamilton to work as a GP. He has a certification in Emergency Medicine.

    Tariq’s area of interest are General practice, Urgent care and Travel medicine. He is a keen gardener and loves to cook as well. He enjoys spending his leisure time with his wife.

Clinical Pharmacist

  • Penny Clark

    Reg Pharm NZ (prescriber). PGDipClinPharm (dist), PGCertPharmPres, MNZCP, MPSNZ, MCAPA, MNZHPA

    Penny has been the clinical pharmacist at NorthCare since 2011 and enjoys working as a member of the general practice team. Before coming to NorthCare Penny worked in several hospitals, community pharmacies and did medication reviews while she and her husband raised their 3 children. Penny is now a pharmacist prescriber after completing postgraduate clinical studies through Otago and Auckland Universities.

    Penny is available within the practices to see patients. She enjoys all aspects of general medicine and has special interests in the areas of optimising medicines for older persons and patients with multiple or complex medicines, diabetes and cardiovascular conditions.
