  • Dr. Nick Binns


    Qualified in Birmingham, England in 1985, Nick worked for over six years in the British Forces. He gained further training in paediatrics, rheumatology and obstetrics/gynaecology, then emigrated to NZ. He has 15 years experience in NZ rural general practice and has been in Hamilton since the end of 2009.

    Nick loves the outdoors - cycling, running, diving and spending time in the mountains.

  • Dr. John Tai


    Having finished school in Hong Kong, John went on to study medicine in the United Kingdom and qualified in 1988. Further training lead him to become a qualified general practitioner in 1995 and he then joined the Royal College of General Practitioners as a member in 1996. Since 1997 he has been working full time in Hamilton.

    John enjoys all aspects of General Practice.

  • Dr. Kerry Macaskill-Smith

    MBChB, Dip Paeds, DCEM, FRNZCGP

    Kerry graduated from Otago medical school in 1993 and completed General practice training in 2003. She is married with three children. Kerry enjoys all areas of general practice and is particularly interested in child health. She has post graduate training in paediatrics and community emergency medicine.

    Kerry enjoys bushwalking with her family, reading and singing.

Clinical Pharmacist

  • Penny Clark

    DipPharm, MNCP, RegPharmNZ, MPS, MCAPA

    Penny has been the clinical pharmacist at NorthCare since 2011 and enjoys working as a member of the general practice team. Before coming to NorthCare Penny worked in several hospitals, community pharmacies and did medication reviews while she and her husband raised their 3 children. Penny is now a pharmacist prescriber after completing postgraduate clinical studies through Otago and Auckland Universities.
    Penny is available within the practices to see patients. She enjoys all aspects of general medicine and has special interests in the areas of optimising medicines for older persons and patients with multiple or complex medicines, diabetes and cardiovascular conditions.
